Founded in 1875, The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NYSPCC) is the first child protection agency in the world, with NYSPCC’s founders having written the basic tenets of child protection laws in the United States.
With a mission centered on advocacy, mental health services, and child protection, the NYSPCC has been instrumental in shaping policies and providing critical services that ensure the safety and well-being of children in New York City.Its vision is for all children to be safe from abuse and neglect.
